William Henry “Bill” Gates III (born 28 Oct. 1955) is best known for establishing Microsoft with co-founder Paul Allen and for being the richest man in the world. He had only been displaced this year by Mexican telecom magnate Carlo Slim Helu according to Forbes Magazine. He retired from his position as Microsoft’s CEO in 2000 and 6 years later, he announced his intention to devote his full-time efforts to managing the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
