Do You Know Anything About Babe Ruth?
George Herman Ruth, aka Babe Ruth, born in Baltimore, Maryland (February 6, 1895), died in New York, New York (August 16, 1948)
Although Babe Ruth is known for being one of the greatest, if not the best, right fielders in the history of baseball, his first role in the major leagues was that of a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
His father entrusted him to the custody of St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys when he was seven years old. There, he became proficient in shirt making and was also involved in the drama club and school band. It was there that he was introduced to baseball by Brother Matthias Boutlier, who was then the Head of Discipline for the school.
