Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, born in Edinburgh, Scotland (May 22, 1859) and passed away in East Sussex, England (July 7, 1930)
Doyle is best known for his stories about the British detective Sherlock Holmes, which is credited for setting a new trend in crime fiction. He is also the author of the adventures of Professor Challenger as well as numerous historical and science fiction works, poetry, romances, plays, and non-fiction.
Holmes’ passion for justice is mirrored by his creator. In real life, Doyle had been personally responsible for the exoneration of wrongly accused suspects in two separate cases.
